i have been sitting in my living room floor, wrapping gifts, for most of the day today. i pulled out my perfectly color coordinated papers, ribbon and little sticker tags. after getting a few gifts wrapped, i thought to myself...why aren't you doing some "crafty" tags like the peas do? i never have time for such things but decided that it was high time, i made the time.

so here are my "crafty" DIY christmas tags. i can't stop laughing. i crack myself up.

design house digital has paired up with renee pearson! i visited their blog and found that they were giving away a free class, so...i entered. not having won ANYTHING ever in my life, i was shocked and amazed when i was contacted and told that i had WON! although i may have already won the publisher's clearing house...

so...i selected laura coyle's illustrator 1 class. it was marvelous. i use illustrator but am always looking for new tips and tricks to make me better. this class was so easy to follow and full of amazing little tid bits. once i started the lessons, i could not stop. i am going back and taking the illustrator 2 class because laura coyle is now my new scrappy crush.

look what i made with a FREE iphone app!! it is spin art!! i was just playing with it one day, while waiting in line at the inspection station. i thought to myself...hey, wouldn't these make cool brushes. well, there ya go....

the app has a function to save and send your spin art creations to your email. a little vector magic in illustrator, and voila!! spin art brushes!! i am pleased with myself. can you tell?

i love so you think you can dance. it is the best part of summer (besides big brother) and i am soooo excited about this season! the talent is extraordinary!

i was fortunate to see ryan ramirez in person, a couple of years ago, when she was mia michael's assistant. i watched a dance class that she was teaching. she was remarkable!! so...i have a soft spot for her, but also ADORE melanie moore who is from marietta, georgia!!

i have recently discovered a HUGE love for art journaling and it influenced me to create some papers, borders and frames that scream art journal!! they are not my usual design style but that is what i love about them. i hope you like them!

i admit it. i am terrible at drop shadows. i use pscs4, and i use the same 45 degree shadow for every element on my page. i know, right? i am not smart enough to do it any other way...or am i? i found this amazing tutorial by peppermint that you have to see. i may learn to do it right, after all.
